is this enough time to run my lights ?

i am turning on my 2 96 watt pc's at 11am then at 12 i am turning on my 250 mh , the mh turns off at 10pm and the pc's at 11am .. so over all the pc's are running 12hours and the MH is at 10 hours.. is this ok ? or shoud i adjust ??? thank you for your advice

I think alot of people only run their MH for around 5-7 hours a day.

i planed i having of course all sps coral and some small fish , maybe a maxima clam or two..that is about it .. do you think i should only run the mh for 8 hours ?

I would run the mh lights for 10hrs and the atinics for 30 min in the morning and 30 min at night.I would also try some coralvue reef lux 1200k bulbes and get ride of the atinics all together.you will have much better growth and color with reeflux bulbs.

how high do you have your mh over the tank?

Your schedule is fine. For a new tank the XM's will give you great growth. Some tanks can run with less time, some can't. Look to the corals for their needs as every tank is different.
