Is this growth or a parasite?

Hi, came back home from college for the weekend. Saw this on one of my frags, was wondering what those tentacles were. Are they new growth, or a parasite? New to this coral, and to this hobby as I am only a few months in. Yes, I am a newbie!

white stuff is a sponge. the pinkish stuff attached to the rock that you likely paid for is a pest…lol, or it will be if you allow it.

sure looks like a sponge to me"¦they have many thousands of shapes, colours, and textures.

touch it"¦..is it soft and spongy? does it react at all to being touched? cut a piece off and take it out of the water does it shrivel up to nothing almost instantly as the water runs out of it?

They are growing to be new polyps.
