Is this hammer real?

I found this pic online, but nobody has heard of a hammer with this coloration. Is this real, or have I been duped? Pretty damn good photo-shop job if it is a fake.

The green looks right but yeah that red is pretty vibrant.

I wouldn't doubt it exists, but I'd be more inclined to say there was some artificial color adjustment. Hopefully someone can debunk the skepticism.

i say real... but you have no idea what kind of lights he running. lights make everything look diff. from tank to tank

looks shopped to me - the close up allows for saturation and shifting of color from pinky to red without the background telling the tale

but who knows there are some amazing colors out there

I know the store by me has one similar with the vibrant bright green tips but the rest is no more than a light red/pink. I think it was 3 or 4 heads he was selling for $300. It was a very awesome looking coral. So i say it is possible.

I'm pretty sure that's an RC member's Ancora (I think it might be one of the mods, I can't remember). He said the image was altered (or some camera technique he used). He said it was an unusal color like that, but doesn't look exactly like it.
My internet is running slow right now or else I'd go and look it up for you, but it would take me awhile I think.
Try having a look in the gallery for hammers and you'll probably find it.

I've seen some with a definite pink hue to the polyps, but that pic is either very influenced by the light over the tank or some noodling in photoshop.

That picture is from my RC gallery. As indicated in my gallery the picture was underexposed to increase the contrast.

It's also dead; a victim of a chiller pump failure several years ago.

I have seen one about that red in real life, It was due to the spectrum of lighting it was under, because when you put it under other lighting configurations, it turned a dark purple stalk color...

Seems like lots of coral images online are enhanced or fakes. Few corals ever look as nice in the aquarium as they do on vendor sites. Photoshop can be very easy to use if you know what you're doing. The following image took 6 very quick steps and maybe one minute to do. More time and a desire to do a better job could make a near perfect image with completely fake color, etc.

where did you get that? Can I get a frag from you?

I'd be more interested in hearing where you "saw it online." If it was someone trying to sell you a frag you're being taken since that's my coral and it's dead. ;)

I will sell you one for $1000 per polyp, no polyp cap, you send cash first then I send you the coral so I can know your honest :) You can make a fortune aquaculturing this
