Is this harmless

Hello all can someone tell me if this is safe for my tank it came with a coral and since I'm dripping the coral that white thing came off it. So I just want to know if I can throw it in the tank or get rid of it. Thanks @rmyvet

Looks like a nudibranch. It probably eats the coral that it was on. I'd get rid of it and keep a close eye on your new coral to make sure there aren't any eggs or additional nudis.

Nudis generally prey on the corals they come with, so getting rid of it and increased vigilance for more would seem to be in order.

Hey Bent as much as I could measure it was almost 1 inch long. I thought it was part of the coral. I saw it at the LFS and when the guy grab the coral it was visable I saw it but like I said I thought it was part of the coral. Till I was dripping and the thing moved away then I was like wth. I did take it out and made sure that was it. @rmyvet

Thanks I looked up the word you mention and Lord behold that's what it was. He's gone I made sure of that. But at first I thought I got me a free coral yeah right it was a bad bug for coral. Lucky it let go to where I got to see it. Thanks again @rmyvet

Yeah man, it kinda sucks to have to get rid of them. I had some one time that were super bright orange because they were eating my orange bam-bam zoas. I only found a couple, got rid of them and never saw anymore, but I wish I could have kept them because they looked so cool.

Wow, that's a big one! I wonder what it was eating. They pretty much all have super specific diets (like only a certain species or sponge or coral). So it *might* have been eating something else, but it's better not to take the chance!
