is this ich? I'm just not sure...

My Niger Trigger was fine yesterday, and now today I noticed this patch of what looks like his color has just faded. It is only on this one spot at the base of his tail. Sorry the pics aren't the greatest but all I have for now is my camera phone.

Any help would be great, TIA

It doesn't look like ich to me. Even if the spots coalesced, it would not look like such a patch (rather than characteristic salt grain appearance). It's difficult to say from that, but it could be a bacterial skin infection (which could have been *secondary* to ich, if you saw the spots earlier).
