Is this ich?

I noticed this morning my foxface has some white spots that look like salt. Does this appear to be Ich? I have 2 other clowns in the tank that do not have the spots....yet. If so what are my options for saving both fish and tank.

I can't see the picture here at work, but if it is ich then you have the following options

To treat, remove all fish from the DT and do one of these Tank transfer method(TTM), copper, chloroquin phosphate( never used) and finally hyposalinity. In addition leave the DT fishless or fallow for 72 days.

The other option is to do nothing try to keep good water quality and feed well and hope the fish weather the ich and reinfections. Ich will still be in your DT so each additional addition can come down with it.

good luck just my 2 cents

Judging by the photo I would say lympho since there are really only three spots and they seem on the larger side.. Did you QT your fish?

My tank is only 6 months old and this was the first fish in my tank. I do on using a QT be fore I add more fish. This foxface has been in the tank about 5 months. It's still acting normal and eating normal

It might just be sand too... sometimes my fish get sand on them from chasing pods in the sand.. if he's been in there for 5 months I doubt it's ich without new additions.... have you added anything recently? Fish, rocks, sand, inverts?

Also if he's eating and acting normal that would be a good sign.

My water parameters are what I consider perfect and very stable. Nothing new has been introduced in months. I have had several snails croak. I relate that to no more green algea for them. These posts seem promising, I was thinking the worst. I'll keep an eye on him a d worst case I'll quarantine my fish for a while. Hopefully it won't come to that. Thanks for responses. You guys are a big help as always.

This morning all the white spots are gone and two of them are now tiny black spots. The fish is still the hog of the tank and is acting completely normal. Hopefully something just stressed it.

After some serious thought, I may have found something that recently changed in my tank. The temps outside recently dropped quite a bit here in mid TN and when I looked at my apex i can see my heater is cycling A LOT more than it did a month ago. During the summer months it was kicking on and off maybe 4 or 5 times a day, now it appears to be coming on about 20 times a day. The temp is only fluctuating less than a degree but its still going up and down many times over a 24 hour period. Could this be The fish's cause for stress? If so how can I get it to even out some?
