Is this normal for a Haddoni to do this?

That wasn't my nano. Its much happier in my tank bc of lighting, stablility and room but already it needs more room.

I think if the anemone didn't like where it was, it would move. I tried to keep an s. haddoni in my old 55 with water parameters that left a lot to be desired, and it marched all over the place until it died (I was young and foolish, what can I say).

Now, mine never really stood up like that, and the one in my 240 now doesn't either (nor does he move around) but I have seen some that did, and they had plenty of room.

I think I remember phil saying that he has had a number of haddoni and that some have a lot more rigidity and hold themselves up off of the sandbed while others will spread out. Hopefully he can chime in and let you know what he thinks about yours. Aside from it being a little cramped

Your 55g will hold him for a little while depending on feeding habits. It is definatly to close to the glass.

I have a green carpet in 75g and it occupies half of that tank. When it spreads out fully; it touches 3 sides of the tank and occupies up to 24" of a 4' tank. Im debating moving mine to a larger tank as we speak. I have seen one in South Carolina aquarium that was over 2.5' in diameter. They can get quite large.

As for your main question. I believe its due to space. Give it room to flatten out and it will do so most likely.

Like Gary mentioned, my carpet could be feeling its surroundings.

bureau13, when you were young, your carpet probably died bc of inaquedate lighting.

Yeah it is a too close to the glass. I will probably move some rock so it can get some more room for the future so when it does get to big for its space that its in right now, I won't have to worry about it as much.

Yeah. Usually when an anemone does not stop roaming, its usually because of lack of light.
