Is this normal for a haddoni?

I have had this carpet for a couple of months. He is getting bigger and doing fine.

I just wonder if everyones does this at night

Anyone?

PS during the day he is about 10 inches across

Yes, the mouth is great. He is very sticky and eats like a pig. I am sure he is fine, I just wanted to know if the "tulip" looking thing at night was normal.
