hey everyone i just finish acclimating my new lunare wrasse and when i released him into the tank he swam straight behind the rocks to hide and in my LFS he was active and swimming around lively, is it normal that he ran into hiding?

Yes. Do not be surprised if you don't see your lunare for up to a week. It will become bolder once it is established and feels safe.

does it really take that long for them to acclimate themselves to the tank?

also my LFS also told me that they are really hardy is this true?

The book says they are very hardy, but also predators of smaller fish, snails, starfish, crustaceans. Just about anything smaller than they are. And may harass new fish.

I've had fish hide for a week when I first put them in.

Once he gets used to your tank and gets out and about you'll may wish he was back behind that rock;)
Really, they are cool fish, you just have to be careful with tankmates

when i added mine in, it never hid in the rocks, great personality but nips at smaller fish fins and mobile inverts, they will flip over ur snails and hermits and eat them. very agreesive when it comes to eating though.
