I just started a 75 gallon reef tank last month. I had the central refugium/sump cycling 2 months before the tank in the basement. I added 10lbs of live rock to the tank along with around 60lbs of live sand. The second week of the tank running the coralline disintegrated off the live rock. I tested water all thru the process so far nothing has been out of the ball park. nitrates, nitrite & amm are 0. The phos is high but, I am installing a gfo/carbon reactor this weekend. I have clear bubbles on half the rock, I siphoned off all the bubbles and they came back. I had green algae everywhere now the snails have tackled most of it. the long brown hair algae is all over the rocks, I the long hair algae normal, or is all of the part of the cycling? will it go away when I get phosphates down?
