hey guys is this feeding schedule ok for my mantis???

1 reef hermit + 1 cerith or other snail every other week
and 2 feedings of mysis shrimp 2/7 days a week???

is this ok???
should i feed him more or less??

ones a week for mine or could do two every week but that's just me. i have 5 mantis.

how big is your mantis? i think your doing well just be feeding it a hermit and or snail once a week and feed it shrimp twice but don't over feed it within a week cuz they get lazy and don't eat it all. I feed my smashers... fiddler crabs once a week and my spear a fish or parts of table shrimp...if the crabs are small i feed them two in the week but i try not to feed them more then that since i learned they get really lazy and picky... plus makes the water dirty with too much over feeding. mysis...i tired but mine don't seem to like it or they don't go after is as much as a crab or a fish but those r just mine.

He or She is about 3 inches and green with white dots...he is a smasher...i have another question, my mantis never eats the cerith snails i put in there...will he eventually eat it???and how will i feed him brine shrimp?? through a turkey baster maybe??

Yes, I use a turkey baster. that works best. As far as the cerith snails you can keep trying... you can try to starve it buy feeding him once a week and prolonging it by 9 to 10 days a time and try to see if it takes them. If not i take fiddler crabs work best. All smashers love them. and now and then i feed mine chop table shrimp.

I fed mine frozen 1-2 times a week, and he had a few snails and hermits he could grab if he wanted to at the same time.

Worked good for me.

my mantis seems to prefer chunks of food- squid, shrimp, etc as opposed to smaller bits of food- brine, etc.

He takes the food off the skewer and then holds onto it while he eats it

My Peacock loves Cerith snails, Forgot i had one sifting under the sand the size of a golfball until i was watching my manits one day and i guess he saw its snorkel and the he went over to the snorkel and dug the snail out of the sand and knocked it up on top of the sand and went to town on that thing daily for like a week lol
