Is this overkill for a 120?

I have a 120 on order with a ts24 kit. Is this going to be to much power or am I going to be ok? It looks like I can throttle down the power on the streams so I figured bigger is better.

If it is bare bottom SPS it would be fine otherwise I suggest you cut back to a couple 6000 and the controller.

I am planning on having a sand bed in the tank. I will have sps along with other corals. I thought you could turn the 6100s way down.

If I do go with the 6000s can I still get it with the same controller (7095)? If so, what is the kit called?

No kit name but it works the same, the 6000 can use the 7095. If you run the 6100 constantly at low spped it is the same as a 6000 at top speed and you essentially lose the entire point of having a controller, the pump cannot be pulsed or really use the features it was designed for.

Thanks for the info Roger, I have my 6000s and 7095 controller on order. I'll let you know what I think once they are in. I am confident that I (and the tank) will like them.

I do have one more question... Are the magnetic holders worth it? what do they do for me that the standard ones do not? Thanks for all the good info.

If you have a cap or a non standard tank of either trimless non braced design or Oceanic/All Glass you will need them. I find the included holders easy enough to use on Oceanic tanks which is what I always use.
