I've never heard the term 'pinching' in reference to clams.
Could you explain? Maybe I can learn something new.

Pinching is actually a term, or "Pinched" mantles.. It is a disease, and can cause death in clams..
Chinmo, your clam is perfectly healthy, no problem at all.. What made you think it was pinching in the first place.. If it was, it wouldn't be opened much, and the mantle would be almost completely kept in.

Thanks for the information. I've seen pictures of that when I was reseaching on keeping clams, but had never heard that term. Glad I learned something new today!

Beautiful clam you've got there. The clam's mantle looks fine to me.
, it looks healthy 2 me also, jus that the mantle near the inlet hole is slighlty fold back towards the inlet hole, it was expanded fully till i notice the folding the last 3 days.
