hi I got this clam on Friday and it has been doing fine except today I awoke to find him like this, I have three more in this tank and would like to remove him if this is pm before it spreads
thanks for all advice
dipping is a last resort, you need to make sure that that is what you have before you even think about dipping.ive seen too many people advising to give a dip when they have no idea what they have.
the dip consist of just a fresh water bath and although it is a last resort that clam looks pretty far along PM if that is waht it is, then is better to be safe than sorry.
I think Julio has a good point (for new clams). It would minimize parasites entering the aquarium, and a clam can tolerate a short 5-10 minute bath pretty well. I would say that 2 inch would be the minimum size I would dip though.
Sorry about not replying any sooner but I have been working some odd hours but mbbuna I have 2 blue green chromis (removed two of the greedy little bullies yesterday and will remove the other two when they forget about the net again) 1 Atlantic blue tang (got the same time as the clam) 1 juvenile tang do not know the exact name right now as full color have not come in yet 1 female lyretail anthias and 1 splendid leopard wrasse.
I removed the clam the same day and put in a QT tank as of today it do not look it will recover all other calm in tank is doing fine
