I'm new to the saltwater fish hobby and I want to add anew anemone. I have a 49 gal bow front tank with 2 clowns 1 firefish 2 Peppermint shrimp 1 cleaner and 3 nassarius snails. It's a new tank only about a month so I know I need to wait at least 6months to add an anemone. But when I get around to it I need to buy better lights. When I add the anemone will it kill my shrimp and firefish? Also can I have only 1 anemone and not add any other coral or would the lights be too strong and cause a huge algae bloom?

Also my clowns are hosted in the corner of my tank and sleep there every night...one on top of the other. Will they leave their cover and host the anemone? Or basically host both? Or not even touch the anemone since they already have the corner

Hi, a Bubble Tip Anemone will do well. You can have both coral and multiple Anemone as long as you have room. If you get a Carpet Anemone, it might kill some fish, but clowns will be fine. It's not a guarantee that the clowns will use the Anemone, but it usually works out after some time, especially in a smaller tank like yours. As far as algae, it's a stage almost every tank goes through, clean up crews will help, especially Zebra Turbo snails.Your tank should be ready a the 3-4 month interval, might not need to wait 6 months. Good luck!

bubble tip anemones wont kill anything. In my old tank my clowns went straight into my nem, in my new tank they just ignore it
