Is this price unreasonable for a favia?

Looks like purple with green centers to me, which isn't that unusual of coloration, I guess I don't see what the difference is in a "prism" favia verses my plain old favia with the same colors. I will agree that $50 for one polyps sucks considering it's not an overly fast growing coral.

fyi, that prism favia, comes from aussie so i will be a higher prices due to labor cost and such. this favia is also very simialar to the crown jewal offered by atlantis at 100.00 a polyp. this favia is also very similar to the tyree "dragon soul favia" wich going rate is very similar to vivids prices. so with all of this in mind i would have to say that this is the going rate for a rare exotic coral, and seems to be in range with going market rates of other vendors. i will admit it sucks that every time sometine is bright and colorful the color is doubled

100 bucks a polyp!!!! SAY WHAT!
Sorry for the shout, but the shock hasn't worn off entirely.
Can I see a pic of this "Grail" Favia? As much as I love them, that is just insane. Seriously, I want to see this "Crown Jewel"

There are a lot of corals sold for prices that make me laugh to myself. Fad corals tend to be all kinds of crazy prices, especially considering that corals almost as nice or just as nice but without the special attention sell for much more modest prices. If people are willing to pay it though...

Heres the image from their site. Looks cool, but $120 per polyp???

Outrageously nice corals cost outrageous prices.

I'm not into favias, but that is one hell of a nice favia. So to me its not worth it, but I've spent over $100 on a single polyp of acan or micro. So hey if its worth it to you why not.

I see those pink tip elegance corals priced pretty high. To me those are worth $25. But I bet a bunch of people would jump on it for $25.

LOL!! Man, I must be getting old. Those used to be 5 for $100!!! Married with children and I don't even know what a lapdance costs anymore...How did I get here????

Hmmm. I'd rather have the favia than the lap dance but then again I'm a girl. Unless of course she was really hot and the favia was really mediocre. :)

Dude, if you like it, get it!! Im sure all of us have paid more for a coral than others would even think of paying...

EMC, that is an, interesting comment. I better not go there. Anyway, its been nearly 10 years since I had a Lap dance. Sigh.. LOL
Anyway, its a nice Favia, but looks like they used Actinics & enhanced it a little. The problem with screamer corals, is as I noted somewhere on the Favia thread, they can change color(s) in a new tank. What if I shelled out 3-5 hundred for a frag & it turns brown & dull green?!

Reefready sells the Baby's Breath for $120 per polyp. IMO that is a nicer coral than the Crown Jewel/Prism/Dragon's Soul. You can get it cheaper in the marketplace forum if you are patient though.
