Is this really Ich?

I don't have a close-up picture at the moment. I have a Blue Hippo Tang that I have been treating for Ich for 4+ days. The tank water is at 81 degrees, 1.024 salinity. 0 amm/nitrite/trate. I'm treating the tank with Attack-Ich.

The tang has small greyish-clear spots all over it's body. They're not white. They look more like bumps, but they don't appear to be raised (it's hard to tell).
At first it was stressed and hiding (due to transfer). Now it's very active. Won't eat frozen, but appears to have been eating the seaweed in the tank (it looks to have been picked at, but haven't actually seen the fish eat).

Its very easy to tell what ich looks like; just google "marine ich" and look at the images. You'll see fish with huge infestations of ich, so just look at the individual spots. Ich is white and similar to a grain of sand. Your hippos is probably showing the darkish blotches/spots commonly associated with stress. They usually disappear within a few days. Ich-Attack is a worthless herbal waste of money. If you think this is ich, I'd post this in the disease forum section. Feed the tang some frozen mysis and other foods as well as the seaweed. I assume the fish is in a QT? You cannot treat ich in your main tank.

He is in a QT. If Ich is completely white, then my fish does not have Ich. The spots on my fish are only grey. I have not found anything that has said things about these "stress spots", so I'm very relieved to find this out.

I don't know what the real cause of the blotchy spots you are seeing is; but they are very common on this forum. Especially with tangs. A Pic would really help us help you make sure, tangs are very ich-prone.
