Hello everyone
Middle parts of an acro's some branches which I put into tank a week ago turned to white from brown.
Is it RTN?
Paras are as follows;
ca 400
dkh 10
sg 1.021
pH 8.4-8.6
temp 77-80F

Any comment would be very appreciated.

rtn usually looks like the tissue is peeling away from the skeleton... and it usually happens very quickly, it can happen in a matter of hours. What you have sounds more like bleaching.... i would probably frag what parts of the coral are still okay...

A lot of things can cause bleaching. Drastic temp changes (especially on the high end), drastic lighting change (usually to the higher side), and high nutrient levels might be to blame in many cases.

aeroreef-any pics?

if RTN, the whole piece of sps will gone within few hours or a day.

while this tends to happen, it is not true in all cases. i have had acros rtn and still recover and heal over the bare skeleton.
