I am setting up a large reef system and will need ~ 1000lbs of sand to allow ~ 3-4 inches in my 450G display and ~ 7 inches of DSB in a 180G refugium.
I am hoping to use aragonite to help buffer the system for stability.
I found the following sand at my local hardware store and wanted to know both whether it is both aragonite and whether it is safe to use in a reef: "Oldcastle Lawn and Garden White Play Sand - Texture Extra Fine by KolorScape".
I thought that I'd read a thread at some point where someone recommended a similar brand. If this is aragonite and known to be safe, I could save some $$$ here. But only if I'm certain.
