Yeah, those are fine. I have a bunch in my tank too and they've never harmed anything. I believe they're referred to as a Worm Sponge. (Carteriospongia vermifera)
I have some on a rock. The part that's deeply shaded is white, and the part that is in moderate light is black with degrees of pigmentation in the intermediate zone. Grows fast but strips off easily
I've had that in my tank for 5+ years. Some white, some blackish and some greenish. I have had no problems with it, it's a nuisance when it becomes dislodged and floats around. But in the big scheme of things, no big deal.
