yes they are i just traded one in that was almost 11" across and they do eat alot

mine must be lethargic, his center body is 3" and total span of close to 18" and other then hanging a few arms out into the current at feeding time hardly ever moves out from under his rock and for the size doesn't eat any excessive amount.
