Is tis a good Protein Skimmer

Im not familoiar with that brank but do a search for octupus or ASM skimmers, both are supposed to be good and cheapish..... trust me spend a little more on the skimmer and get it right from the start:) Ive never had an octopus but heard they are great.

seaclone has been around most fish stores. i am not a big fan unless you mod it to death.
i would go with a coralife that is rated for a 65 gallon before i bought that one. i think thier around 80.

I had one seth and like said here before, unless you mod it to death it won't work.

i will go with something bigger. if you are going for a 75g tank go for a skimmer rated for 100g or more.

Me personaly with my new tank im going with coralife 125 for the system that will be 85g in total.

I would have to agree with kenny on that one, the coralife super skimmers are uber cheap, and supposedly work great...

yes sea clones are garbage. the coral life skimmers do work really good. also check out the for sale forum. usually people sell their used ones for pretty good prices.

I recently bought an octopus skimmer nw 150 from Premiumaquatics.com, 160$ shipped, and i must say after a simple mesh mod(i can hook u up w/ the enkemat), it destroys my old ER. which was double the cost and the pump took a crap on me, yes the sedra pump, which was meticulously maintained. anyways i am overly pleased w/ my octo, its still breaking in, but everyday it just looks better and better. its really a great buy.

p.s. it is made out of cell cast acrylic, unlike the asms. which i do like.

i didnt think anyone said "no on the coralife"

I think Seth is giving the no to the coralife. ? ;) IMHO the quality of the Octo over the Coralife is pretty significant. I was very pleased w/ its construction esp have a ER to compare it right next to.

oh i wasnt doubting that the octopus is a better skimmer, merely looking at his price range. although the super skimmer is still out of his price range, it will be significantly cheaper and do the job pretty well.

never mind, was thinking of the smaller model of coralife.. looks like the octopus is cheaper for that size tank. My bad.

well, i think i am goign to sell candy EXTRA hard, ...lol... and buyt he Octopus... that will be the smart thing to do, ans i will thank myself down the road...

im sure you will, but remember that the octopus is for in-sump use only, so make sure thats the route you are going before buying it.
