It happened - treat what first?

Hey Folks,

So in my 125 gallon FOWLR tank, I believe I may have a small out break of ich. Tank has been setup for a little over two months and has fully cycled and has been doing fantastic. Rewind about a month ago and my LFS called to let me know that they just got a porcupine puffer in and that I was first on a very long waiting list. I rushed down to pay for him, but the owner advised that they couldn't hold him in the store, since there is such a long wait list. He basically told me that I either have to take this one now or let someone else have him. So, I've been trying to get one of these for awhile, so I went ahead and got him. Unfortunately, my QT was already occupied, as were my tanks for TTM.

I drip acclimated the puffer and then proceeded to do a 2 hour paraguard drip..After that, against my better judgement, I added him to the DT as the first fish. Fast forward 4-5 weeks, I ran a fox face through the TTM during this time (while simultaneously treating with paraguard). After he was done with all that, I added him to the DT about a week ago. Now I am seeing a couple white spots on him and some questionable spots on the puffer. Additionally, the fox face has what appears to be fin rot. I've been trying to get some pictures, but he is extremely skittish right now. On both pectoral fins, there are small pieces that almost look like algae that are flapping in the wind and may or may not be getting worse.

So, here is what I'm thinking...I was planning on just treating the DT with cupramine, since it is going to be FOWLR and I really don't have a sufficiently sized QT to keep these bigger fish in for 8-9 weeks. I was planning on pulling my snails and sand sifting starfish out of the DT and placing them in a 10 gallon QT for the duration of the copper treatment. However, what about all my pods in the refugium? I'm guessing the copper will kill them all, but is there anyway to salvage some?

Also, should I just treat with copper and not worry about the fin rot right now or what? Any suggestions would be terrific on the matter...I've certainly learned my lesson about rushing things.

Fish are still active and eating, but fox face seems a little less active than normal. The puffer does seem to be scratching a bit on the rock.

Thanks so much,
~CBM
