Hi guys,

Anyone that can help me identify this one? I am updating my database of corals and I have not been able to properly ID this one. I like how it looks and. as you can see, it is very healthy and its polyps are always extended.

This coral has grown its skirt about 1/2" since I got it a few months ago, so it is not a fast growing coral, but it is cool looking.

Thank you in advance for your help.

When I first got it:

montipora stellata

With the OPs coral the coenosteum is glabrous, unlike M. stellata where as it would be covered with fused ridges.

I am also about 100% sure this is Montipora spongodes, possibly could be Montipora vietnamenisis as well, but again, lacking the ridged coenosteum.

Thank you all for your comments. I'm glad I asked. I would like to frag this one in a few months when it grows a bit more and by knowing the type of coral better, I will be better prepared for fraging it.
