It works! Glad to see it, sorry for the delay again. I just set up a 20L with a 20L sump, but it was a quick job to hold everything in a hurry. Nowhere near as well put together as this, very nicely done.
Wow awesome tank. Off to a great start. I wish I would have seen this a week ago to steal your overflow. I hate that all the crap gets stuck at the top of the tank. Might have to figure a way to get the tubes to bend back upwards.
Very cool tank... what size is that? I've been considering the mr aqua 12g long bookshelf tank. I like how you have the filtration on the side, looks sweet.
get an ATOโฆi have my daughters 5g set up the same way with the overflow, and it runs dry everyday if i forget to top it off..mind you it is only about 700ml in the overflow, so i don't think it effects the Sg, but it is a pain the butt to listen to it...
seems like that light is more for a cube rather than a rectangle with so much light in the middle. Could always buy another of the same light one for each side of the tank if it ever was a big deal. Nice build though.
nice kitty! Looks like you're off to a good start. I like how you made the overflow for the HOB. I've thought of doing something similar and may steal your idea
out of curiosity, why de-rim the tank if you're going to have a HOB filter and stuff anyway? Not a criticism at all, just curious. It does look nice though.
The rimless top certainly looks better. I don't know if this still holds water (pun intended), but I thought that tanks made with top rims were built that way on purpose; i.e., the rim is there to keep the walls from separating under the pressure exerted by the water. Tanks built rimless to begin with use different, stronger adhesive sealants and/or thicker glass (for greater adhesive surface contact) to prevent separation of the walls. At least that was supposed to be true a decade ago. If that's still the case, you may want to reconsider and put the rim back on... or at least check with the manufacturer and see if it's OK to have removed the rim.
