Its back mitras deal

sorry buddy, knock us up when you need something we will look after you ;)

its all down to our buy in price with the euro, we run stupid tight margins that why it fluctuates.

just posted this is the Mitras Clud Thread... but...thinking of pulling the trigger on the 6200's, how many will it take to cover a 72x24x28? .... my dealer is saying that 2 will do it, but after reading all this i am not so sure that they will. it will be a SPS/LPS reef... please let me know your thoughts. its a lot of money and i dont want to be dissapointed.

The technical size is 36x36" tested independently by Dr Sanjay Joshi, of course this does not take into account for aquascaping, you are right on the limit of 2, so depends on budget you can start with 2 and build from there but 3 is optimal.

You wont be disappointed... Love , Love Mines.. Working or saving on another 1.
Worth every $$$$. Anything German Made is Well Worth It
PROFULIX / MITRAS R U L E !!!!!

In comparison you would need 4 or 5 gen3 radion pros for your set up. At 749 each this is a better deal. Even if you got 3.

5 radions to cover a 72x24x28 tank? What would you be trying to do, cook fish? The tank probably has two center braces meaning three sections to light, why on earth would you need 5 lights? Thats just bad advice...

To prevent shadowing and dead spots most radion users over cover there tanks and run at lower power levels. Just as the op was saying he wanted to do with the mitras. 2 would cover, 3 creates enough overlap for that margin to cover potential shadowing. Also with the radians 24" coverage he would beat the limits in his width. Therefore reduced par in the back of his tank. But I'm not here to argue.

You'd have the same overlap with any fixture due to it not being located below the brace. With (36x36) or without (24x24) a wide angle lens you would get plenty of coverage.

I'm not here to argue either as both are great fixtures, but I run three radions on a 72x36x27 and I have great coverage for the whole tank.

The shadowing I was referring to is that caused bygone nature of led being a point source. Shadowing is the biggest problem with all led fixtures.

Again this is where GHL Mitras are wholly different, they do not use lenses they use reflectors specially designed in conjunction with a leading German luminaire laboratory to match the same effects you would get from a T5 lamp, with 98% refraction and complete LED convergence, meaning no hot spots.

This is what you are paying for with Mitras, oh and also the linear dimming technology not found in any other lamp on the market to my knowledge and if it is no company is advertising it ;)

LDT turns a digital step up step down signal into an anlogue wave form.

Whats the benefit?
Look at every LED on the market and when you get down to low % dimming values typically below 20% every time it dims down to the next step you will see it, this is because the driver signal is digital, digital is like a flight of stairs, where as analogue is like a ramp.

Now if you employ the patented technology of LDT the digital signal is smoothed out and you get a nice smooth ramp, to this effect when you watch the lamp you will not see any chops, it will gradually dim naturally.

This is important for two reasons.
1. it looks natural and better, more pleasing to the eye
2. you can then have programmed rolling cloud cover so the light will dim to your pre set design as if a cloud has passed over the sun, now imagine that with 3 lamps over a 6' tank, you can have a rolling cloud go from one end of the tank to the other. The more fixtures you have the more impressive it looks!

NOW thats why the MITRAS does cost that bit more than other lamps.

More big news! we are getting a rate hike with the strong USD so for all orders placed from Today though to the end of the month the units will be shipped for free also!

take advantage as this really wont last much after March
