The size isn't bad at all, I really like the one in the back (Blue with goldish) very nice. I can't wait until I can get one - are they for more established tanks? Looks like I need to look up croceas

yeah the tank should be up a while before you get any clams.i was told that the croceas are the hardest to keep and require the most light of all the clams.the maximas dont need as much but still like strong light.btw you working on that fuge yet?im drawing mine right now on my cad program.

I worked on it some last night so I have a good idea as far as size and design - fairly basic. Place for skimmer, baffles, refugium area and then return. Now size, I kind of have an idea for the length now for the depth and height.
Question:
I have a green house in my back yard, it did have about 300+ orchids, now about 60 because I sold most last week. What I was wondering is if you would think I could keep a coral area in it? Just wanted to get some ideas.

So - got your design finished? Are you going to put it under the new stand? I do like a canopy look but I also understand the heat problem that comes along with that. I'll definitely have to go with the canopy also because of the plumbing. I've really been working on my flow - I might go with a Dart on the 75g and get rid of all the pumps inside the tank.

well im not sure about that.i did tell you i got corals from my buddy in orlando.he had the outdoor pond setup,my concern with the greenhouse is the temps.im sure it gets hot in the summer inside,like 95+ degrees am i correct?his setup just had a shade cloth that was a good size larger than the pond.i think he said he ran a chiller on the pond that came on at 92 degrees.

yes my design is locked in and going under the stand.the sump/fuge will be 32"long x"18" wide x16"tall ,that works out to a little over 40 gallons total volume(when full to top).im going to run the sump level around 6"-8" deep.i cant post autocad plans here but i can screencapture it and paste it.all the lines you see on the right side view are where im goingto mill slots in the acrylic for the water to flow in and out of the fuge.

That's nice, so it looks like you're doing the over, under, over to eliminate the bubbles with 2 inches between? Are you going to put your skimmer in or outside? I do like mine in just in case, but they do take up lots of space.

Mummm - I kind of forgot about the heat factor. Might have to ditch that idea, it was a nice thought.

From what I understand you should have the skimmer first, from there some people put the return and the refugium. I like skimmer, refugium and then return - but that's just me. Just a little info, make sure you put a tee in you're output so that 70 percent goes into the skimmer area and around 30 percent straight into the refugium. This is to make sure some of the live things (copepods etc) will make it from the tank to the refugium. In my first refugium I didn't do this and I'd find all kinds of good things in my filter bag.

cmjreef im going to use a sequence dart pump(3600ghp) for the loop pump.i made my own OM but mine is a 6 way valve.

That works great and looks great. I'm getting the same pump from MarineDepot, for now I'm just plumbing it in without any variation in the water (OM-4 @300+ not). I figured in a few months I'd order something to replace it.
You don't want any fuge water to be skimmed, or you will skim out any pods that make it out of the fuge. I believe the best way is skimmer on one end, fuge on the other end and return pump in the middle.
