So I went home for lunch and my rock was in. 44 LBS. the rock looked great I just dipped it in water to remove dirt and put it right in the tank. I was going to make a aquascape but the tanked silted over after I put the first piece in so I ended up with a pile. I think 44 lbs is too much for a 30 Gal tank not much swimming room. But I wont know until tonight when the silt settles... I might have to take a peice out and toss it. I have no spare tanks to keep it in.

Also Marine Depot has great rock. Nice big peices really nice looking.

I don't think 44lbs in a 30g tank is too much. Maybe not enough... I like lots of rocks, just create caves and so on. My 29g looks like it needs more rocks. Click my little red house and check it out.

I have rock from side to side and almost to the top in the middle. Of course right now its just thrown in there tonight I will arange it a little. I also might have too much sand. I dug the bottom rocks in a little for support pushing the sand to the front and sides not I have about 4 - 5 inches of sand in those spots. I might try to pull some out before the tank is established.

pics tonight I am at work now I ran home at lunch and threw the rock in. I couldn't leave it sitting in the box in my driveway...

Don't get too much rock! Trust me, after 3-4 years of coral growth, you will regret it.
