I feel like such a traitor guys.......
I started off in earnest on my epic quest for my trigger pair this morning.... I set out at 7.15am..... arrived at the not-so-local LFS at around 11.30am....... I went in, while the boss (Mrs. mattsilvester) parked the car........
As soon as I saw them (the trigger pair) my heart sank...... I was a little disappointed in them, but it was not a show stopper...... however I knew "the boss" wasn't going to accept them......
When she came in, the male came forward...... her first comment was "where's the male - he's more colourful, right?"...... and right then I knew it was going to be a no-no.
So - long story short - I did not get my pair of triggers...... gutted...... but to be honest, I have to sort of agree with her..... they were a little "dull"...... and if the tank is heading toward "FO" then dull fish are a definite no-no.........
So - what I came home with was...... the pair of clarkii clowns...... which I must say are very nice..... and the mrs. was very happy....
But the "result" of the day was that there was a small niger trigger and a small adult clown trigger...... and "the boss" really liked them...... she always liked them in the pics, but in the flesh, she was well impressed. The majestic angel was gone, but there was a lovely little queen which has re-affirmed my desire for one
I was really temped to get one of the triggers or the queen..... but I know from past experience its ALWAYS a bad idea to go to the LFS with the intention of buying one thing and coming home with something different....... so I am going to plan it properly and order what I want, when I want, with a little bit of preparation done first......
So......... no triggers for me today - and no pictures for you!!! Sorry about that...... but the saga has not ended!
