Ive got a PROBLEM with Waveboxes!!!

Ok, at first I liked the flow they offered... one of a kinda, very cool, great for removing detritus.. HOWEVER...

I have noticed that they also mimic huricane weather in the ocean... which for lack of a better word ****ES sertain species off...

also, corals like Goniopora and certain soft coral species have a problem with it... they do not want to open fully because of this movement... they are used to more of a straight line soft flow that alternates.... vs a constant swishing back and forth...

Has anyone else seen problems with this?

I've been thinking about adding a wavebox. What size tank is yours on? Is it loud or water nosie loud?

I know when I move a goni or leather even it doesn't fully extend for a few days. Have you given it time to settle in?

Tunze Wavebox...

No I do not have one myself.. I have just seen other tanks with them...

they are pretty much dead silent...

again I dont have one.. just seen tanks with them

I have just seen a 365gallon with one and noticed that a few corals esspecially a colt was not exactly happy...

that could have been due to a problem in the tank, however everthing else seemed fine

just curious to see what other people think...

I have only seen good things from the wavebox, but I only have SPS and a frogspawn. I have talked to a lot of people on here that have one too, and I know from pictures that they have softies, and no one has ever commented that it had an adverse affect on any corals in their tanks. I would bet money that there is some other factor causing the the problem. Hopefully someone that has a colt and a wavebox can chime in.

The only problem with the wavebox is the fact the included mounting hardware is a joke. :)
