OK I was just chilly by the tank and noticed that there were "scales" on the rocks blowing in the water. At first it was neat but then I noticed them everywhere. So I take out my stick feeder and tap a few and they flattened out and started to crawl into the rock. WHOA thats not cool. They are a rust color and line up like scales all together. When they are disturbed, they each go its own way. Any ideas?

I haven't added anything in like the past 6 months.

no, i have seen these before, they are not worms but some kind of pod i think. I posted pics of them somswhere on here, and i was told they were some kind of bug. I wish i could giv eyou a name, but i cant

well, the most important thing to remember is dont freak out. if theyve had time to reproduce apparently theyre not causing immediate harm. post some pics too...i'm curious to see what these things are...

sounds like the could be pods, thought some mandarins in, if the manadarin gets fat its pods, if it starts to go all skinny on you then its not.... heh :-)

FW exit is a good treatment but follow the recomended dosage and water changes as the directions state and try to siphon as many out as you can before treatment so that it doesnt foul your tank from all of the FW deaths. Definately sounds like red planaria(flatworms) to me :)

Yep...FW's. Seth, if it looks like it's not a worm, feels like it's not a worm, then it's a worm. Just remember, anything underwater can be really anything:).

These will not harm anything in your tank, but can break out into plague proportions. They reproduce rapidly and the best way to rid them is quickly. When using Exit, you HAVE to change your water, probably more than directed. They release a bad toxin that can be harmful unless removed/diluted.

Melanarus Wrasse - Halechores Melanarus

They do an awesome job cleaning up flatworms and they're a great looking fish.
