I've got this 55gal just sitting around...

So I've got this 55Gal long aquarium just sitting in my garage collecting dust. My wife and father in-law have been bugging me for quite some time to set up a seahorse tank, and tbh I've been putting it off because I don't know much about seahorses.

The past couple weeks though, I've had some extra time, and I've been reading heavily through this forum, and some of the one's that get linked too out of here.

I have two questions, because I've seen a varied mix of responses.

First is temp.
All of the other tanks I keep stay at 80F year round, although in the winter (whatever winter there is in Fla) I do see the heaters come on fairly often, since we let the temp drop some in the house. I know for sure I could keep a Seahorse tank at 80F, maybe as low as 79F, and I could go lower during the cool months, but in the summertime, I would absolutely have to have a chiller if I wanted to go below 78-79F.

Is this a deal breaker for me? If I run a slightly oversized UV sterilizer, and am extremely careful about anything I add to the tank, will this be enough to control possible pathogens/infections?

Second is species.
Is it ok to mix species in any way, or is it one species to the system? I would like to have Reidi's and Kuda's or maybe Erectus' and Kuda's. Is either of those two combinations possible? Does it make a difference if I get them all from the same breeder? I am thinking of either a pair of each of the two species.

Sorry for all the questions, but there's alot of conflicting info out there. Thanks in advance!

A 55 is a great tank for Sh IMO.
I think the temp of 80 is to high for most, I keep mine between 70 and 75 for erectus.

As for mixing species most don't, although I have read peoples post's about mixing species and cross breeding them. Maybe someone with more experience will chime in.

p.s. if you haven't already I would checkout seahorse dot org
