I've lost all my Polyp Extension

Withing the past 2 weeks one by one my acros are losing their polyp extension during the day. Since I started dosing Elos Aminos a few months ago i've had crazy daytime PE. At first I thought my new majestic angel was picking but upon watching for a while, i found that he was only picking on one pocillopora. The only pieces I have which seem to be still doing well are my Tyree Tricolor and an unknown acro. The skin color is still normal and they're still growing fine. A few days ago i put some carbon in the filter sock as i can't think of anything else to do. The only things that have happened recently are that I foiund out my calc and mag were low (switched to salifert test kits so of course) but that was after the problem started. I started running phosban passively about a month and a half ago and I added a majestic angelfish. Ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate still read zero. ph 8.3. 1.025sg. I dose elos amino's daily and sometimes soak food in selcon. I even pulled out a few frags and dipped them in revive which had no noticeable effect. so, who out there has ideas???????

I know you said your ph was 8.3, but have you tested your Alk lately? I noticed that when my alk starts dropping my zoas close up

My sps frag stopped opening after a week and then i cuaght a green clown goby near by and moved the rack into the open. No longer a problem. Any problem on PE i always blame a fish.

What else can cause small or no PE in SPS, I have seen swings in PE but I don't really see nippers except on my zoas from the emperor juvie. ?????

I figured the angel was the likely culprit. I was just trying to verify that it wasn't a parasitic problem such as red bugs or aefw's.

The angle probably has a lot to do with it. I would, however, cer a magnifying glass to check if you have red bugs. He angle may have weekened the corals a little and allowded the red bugs to flurish.

I doubt its the angel,

I have a blue tang which nips at SPS polyps, but the SPS still show full polyp.

one of my colonies ost all its polyps, I took it out and removed 3 mantis shrimp from it !!! (the green ones, not sure if they are called anything different)

so ID say check for crabs or shrimps.

Angel! If it were red bugs and were spread out enough that it was effecting all acros you would be seeing loss of color by now. Do the polyps come out at night while the fish are resting? If yes it is the fish for sure!
