this new tank is going to be packed full of coral as if my 75 already isnt so i want it to look full of life like the reef as u the tank will be viewable from down the hall

lmk what u think

You can't keep a group of chromis. They will more often then not pick on each other untill there's one or two left. I watched a LFS go from 50+ in a large to 3-4 in a month!

The group of firefish is also a bad idea IME they will fight eventually leaving you with one or possibly two pairs.

Catalina gobys should be left in the wild or in a cold water tank.

6 line wrasses are mean towards other wrasses and some other fish.

Black and white percs can become very mean when they start breeding.

I would add 7 lyretail anthias instead of the pair, a pair of firefish, clowns if you really want them, a bristletooth tang, and possibly a dwarf angel if your feeling risky.

Its common knowledge that in basically all home aquaria, only a m/f pair of firefish will coexist.

If you want a "school" with the chromis you will probably not get it. Probably a killing spree.

That tank size screams wrasse, wrasse, wrasse!

Cheryl has a trio(shes on 3reef & nano reef) and never had any problems.
this would be a awesome wrasse tank.

Lots of people keep fish they shouldn't, temporarily.

I don't know Cheryl, but I'd say it's only a matter of time until 2 pair off and kill the third. Ive seen them be vicious towards one another. My pair that I had for over a year recently turned on each other and now I'm down to one.

Ooooo. That's an exciting question. I would go peaceful.

Leopards: If you can get one, two or three that are healthy, eating and don't have damaged mouths, I think they are amazing. Once acclimated, I don't feel most of the leopard species are particularly difficult (except Choati) as long as you have a nice sand bed (I'd say 3") and you feed plenty o' mysis. Thrice daily would be good.

A harem of flashers would be superb.

A single canary or yellow "coris" wrasse is a peaceful pest eater that adds a fantastic splash of yellow to the tank.

You could also have a possum or pair o' possums. They're rather cryptic but extra awesome.

Also, perhaps a peaceful fairy or two but I don't know my fairies well.

I think a pair of captive bred ocellaris clowns is a great addition. Especially with an RBTA.

And I would do a pair of shrimp gobies with a pistol as well.

And a few other incidental gobies.

Good luck!

Some may say you will have trouble sustaining these and your pod population will be virtually nill. For my part, I don't think that will be a problem so long as you feed lots.

In the long run, that is true. For a few months, they may tolerate each other

Agreed. You will end up with one or possibly two

Yes, it does!

ok thanks SA for the reccomendations i dont think pod population will be a problem as i run probably the biggest fuge system than 75% of ppl strong neliever in natural filtration and if that doesnt cut it yes im a very heavy feeder

Also, no Catalinas at reef temps, please. They may live for a while, but it's just not a conscientious aquarist kind of choice.

And I've never heard that black and white percs are any meaner than the orange ones. I would encourage captive bred clowns.

With the fish you have already the angel is the most aggresive. I wouldn't add any more chromis. I would not add a six line or catalina as stated. I have no exp. with firefish.
My exp. with the lyretail is not soo good. Started with trio. Then a pair and finally just the male. He killed three wrasses and a coral beauty. I finally put a purple tang in with him and he would fight with him over food. If you want anthias maybe sunset or ignitus. Or maybe if you put them in very last. At the end the males fins where like streamers, beautiful. After six years though I was happy he was gone.
In my new tank I have a royal gramma, golden midas blenny, tail spot blenny, yellow eye kole tang which thinks all the algae is his at times, lawnmower blenny which the kole will chase, pair of mandarins, pair of ocillaris clowns, pair of mccosters flasher wrasse, female blue flasher wrasse, the male died with no sighn of problems and dot and dash flasher wrasse. Want to add a filament flasher wrasse pair and the blue male that I lost. All this in a 150g. The wrasses have a pecking order but there is no fighting as of yet. The tang chases but no real harm. Everybody else gets along fine.
If you want more aggressive fish you can't add more peaceful fish like flasher wrasses.

I never had a problem with my sixline wrasse and he was big, 3" at least. I added a tang, firefish, chromis, damsels, and clownfish after him and he didn't bother them, even had a cleaner shrimp in with him.
