January Club meeting

It is not January yet, but I thought it might be a good idea to see who was interested in hosting the January meeting. The MTRC is not having their frag swap until April this year. It is not too early to be thinking about our frag swap in June. LMK if you are interest in hosting. Hopefully we will get to see Scott's new baby.

:D

Heh. Not sure if the baby is up for a 3-hour outing just yet (she might be, but I'm not).

Did we ever decided on a place/time?

Scott

No baby, rats.

I think Mel has volunteered.

Mel is the 21st a good day for you? If you are still up for it, what time, and what kind of food should I bring?

Oh yeah! I'd be up for it. No problem. I work until 6 though so the earliest we could start is 7 probably...unless we had it on Sunday. I think Saturday at 7 isn't bad though.

Is that ok with everyone? Hmm...food food food. Lemme think about it!

Mel,

What is the time? This Saturday (21st) at 7pm?

What about food. We are going to have food, right? I do not think it could be considered a ETRC meeting if we did not have food.

Can you bring a standard and I bring my refractometer and so I can check it?

7pm would be good. Jake won't be there until 8:30 but that's completely fine.

Yes, we're having food! I'm probably going to make regular chili and we can have stuff associated with that as sides? Did we do that last time? Crap...I think we did. It's been a few months since we had it...anyone care if we do that again? I could try to make a pork roast in the crock pot instead but I'm thinking chili will workout better. I can brown the meat the night before and then throw it all into a pot as soon as I get home.

I will bring my refractometer solution...but someone better remind me about it. I'm prone to forgetting these sorts of things.

Hey so, I'm not making chili after all! I'm either making a pork roast or panko/peanut crusted chicken.

Anyone allergic to peanuts? Anyone vegetarian? Speak now!

My house is kid friendly (feel free to bring them!!) but it's not child-proofed so don't go suing me over any of that. Also, there's a lot of cats there that the children are free to harass.

Mel

Do you have a preference as to the food the rest of us should bring?

I cannot imagine what chicken with peanut butter on it would taste like!

How many folks are planning to come?

Not peanut butter! Peanuts! hah hah. It's really good. Jake ate it up!

If someone has kids and they are concerned about a food allergy I could "shake and bake" some pieces for them, (looking at Davila, hoping he's coming and bringing the family) and I don't mind doing that at all.

I do not have any preference for side dishes.

Veggie trays, casserole side dishes, veggie side dishes, mashed potatoes, desserts...we're all completely wide open here. Oh! Chips and dip! I will probably make onion dip and have some Ruffles. Jake will want to have salsa and chips too so we'll probably supply that as well.

Any side dishes you guys want to make, whether they "go" with my chicken or not, will be welcomed! hah hah. I'm very food-adventurous so DO YOUR WORST!

I miss the days when we started describing the food we were gonna bring about two weeks out from the meeting. But that's probably my fault since I always helped lead those discussions.

Anyway, as of yet, we've got no side dishes! So someone bring a side dish!

My address is 6006 Adelia Dr, Knoxville TN 37920.

From 40, you take James White Pkwy exit, continue on James White until it ends (there's lots of turn offs but don't take any of them...just stay to the left until it ends) then turn R. I'm not sure what that street is called. Anyways...it all says 441 detour. So you could follow the signs for that...basically you're staying on James White until it ends in a T and at the T turn R.

Then go down a mile or so and turn left onto Chapman Hwy.

Go down past the Kroger, past the firestation, and turn R onto Stone Rd (at a light).

Veer hard left onto Magazine Rd.

Turn R onto Adelia Dr.

My house is on the left, it's yellow and there's two VWs! Also, the Christmas tree might still be in the window, I'm not sure if I will have taken it down by then. hah hah.

I know we're not active on the forums very much lately but that was a HUGE meeting and a great time! We did good this month ETRC!

I'm sorry I missed the meeting. Both Pat and I were sick Saturday. Bad Shrimp I think. See you next time I hope.

Steve
