Japanese Acan's/Micro's - Let's See them

How can one tell even tell for sure if they are "Japanese" or not. Its not illegal to posess them (even if you were to smugle it in), its the same as any micromussa amak or acan lord once you have them. The act of getting it in is illegal but there is no differentiation between Japanese, Aussie, or Indo. Once its in your posession, the species are all the same.

I am told that US fish and wildlife are really cracking down on 'coral smugglers' all the Japaneese corals in the US have been brought in illegally...for what its worth...anyone selling these pieces online in their store....well are likely either passing off Indo pieces or are knowingly breaking the law...I will stick to my aussie pieces which are just as nice and LEGAL.

These 2 I suspect as being japanese however I'm not 100% sure. The above are for sure from japan.

You obviously have never heard of the Lacey Act which covers this area extensivelly. If smuggled they are will always be illegal if it can be proven.

You asked in another post why Canada can get these and not the US. Simple, the US F & W S does a better job at keeping smuggled items out then their Canadian counter parts

Gresh, I didn't know that. However, my point was how can you prove where it came from? A lot of the so called "Japanese" acans and micros most likely are not really from Japan anyway.

I'd say most aren't :lol:

I'm sure there are different isotopes and such found in each area and can be tested for *IF* they had it in for you. With how things are progressing on the control front, I'd say testing like that shouldn't be ruled out in the near future.
