Japanese Lunate Fairy wrasse???

Old post but... just got a female lunate, does anyone know if they eat tisbe pods or just pods in the water column? And do fairy wrasses normally change to males if housed in tanks with other non wrasse fish?

Fairy wrasses are more adept at eating from the water column than from surfaces.

Generally, females will transition to males, even with other males.

Thanks. I know fariys are generally more aggressive than flashers, so Im curious if youve added different female fairys or flashers without aggressiveness? Or more specifically, if I want more wrasses should I hurry and add them before this one gets too settled? Other tank mates are a 2 inch wild caught ocellaris, dispar anthias, green chromis in 75g mixed reef with 110lbs LR, running for 1.25 years

I'm 'always' adding fairy wrasses to my tank...I have about 40 in my 450g tank... Unfortunately the super males are usually the first to go, so I add juvi/females whenever they are available and on sale...after QT, use an acclimation box and there should be no problems

Yep^ AlWAYS use an Acc box. Transition is so much easier. I never have problems now that I use one. And my king of the wrasses is one of the most aggressive in hes a Rosefascia. But after a few days in the acc box, none of the wrasses even care about the newcomer
