Japanese Sakura Anthias

Good Morning,,
Would like to know does anyone have information on the Cherry Anthias.
Our Local fish store has a pair he just got in yesterday....
Going back there in a few days to see how they are doing and maybe going to purchase the pair which are not cheap....
Before I think of spending that money I've been trying to fine some information on these fish but haven't come up with a whole lot....
I know they are a deep water fish, I already have the other deep water Anthias and it so far has been doing good....
If someone out there own's a pair or has heard more on these fish with picture that would be great I think they might be new to the trade...

I think they've been around for a bit, just not as desirable here because they're essentially a temperate species, get pretty large (for anthias), are expensive and according to that article they're not collected in a really great way (for the health of the fish). So you'd really have to find great specimens to want to shell out the money.

Edit: Also not sure if you did or not, but try searching with the proper name, not the common one. Using Google image search there are a few dozen photos of them.

Hi,

Just curious what the store was asking for the fish? I got some of my Sacura through a tranship arrangement with a dealer in B.C. It seems that the cost to ship fish from Japan to B.C. is low enough, that it was less expensive to have a middleman handle them there, than to have them shipped directly to Michigan.

My Local fish store,actually has two set of pair's....
They are said to be doing well,they have already been in a shop in Vancouver awhile, before they were sent here.....
I'm sure they are asking $500.00 for the pair......
Going to go this weekend to check them out again to make up my mind if I want to get them for this price...
