Mine is still small, and in a place where I can't get a good pic of it. But it's right in the middle of the tank under t5s with heavy flow. It's probably the most colorful coral in my tank next to my Jason Fox firecracker. It seems to color up fast and grow pretty well. It was a tiny nub when I got it. Can't wait for it to turn into a good sized colony
Mine's a smaller piece that has 3 little branches. In daylight it's a little pale still, but the moment the blue LED's are on you can see all the potential. Bright flouro tips with a light crimson ring right under those tips, and a deep carmine body with crimson polyps.
At first glance you think "Red with green tips, cool". But this is one of the corals with understated tones that require deeper inspection inspection.

It's a really pretty pretty coral. Mine just happens to be high up in the tank with lots of flow. I placed it there because I wanted to have a prominent spot for it
I think this is with reefbrite xhos on and probably t5's as well

Got it, metal halide only lighting. Sorry, I took about 8 frags out of it last week.

This coral seems to be especially sensitive to water conditions. I've seen some people's in person that are a deep dark red (like the lying cheater pics posted by Jason Fox), and then other ones are light. Everything ends up a little different in another's tank -- But this little gem seems to react big time.
Interestingly, most of the people I've seen who have a darker color tend to keep it Mid or bottom 2/3 of the tank. Because of that I will likely place mine about mid-tank to see how it goes.

I was ALL OVER that, Jess! I got lucky but I had been checking the sight regularly because he was holding a couple other pieces for me.
Thanks! I will put mine in a medium light spot and see how it does. Wednesday! Can't wait!

I just got an 3/4 in Frag and have it on the bottom. Was planning to move up.

I got a frag a few weeks ago and I put it up high in the tank. It is getting dark red with bright tips. You should email Jason Fox and ask him what he recommends. He is very responsive and will be glad to help you succeed.

So what happened to the pics Matt? How quick does this thing grow? i have a tiny 1/2" piece.
I've got a small piece too -- it grows a little slower than average i'd say.
Growth *usually* determines value more than color (once the novelty of NEW wears off at least). If it grows like a weed and everyone is selling a frag for $200 twice a month, it's value will drop.
So unless it's brand new release, the price is a fair indication of growth speed :reading:
This thing is growing fast. I also think it's due for a price drop. I don't track nitrates or par. But alk is 8 and it's kept at the bottom of the tank. It arrived in the mail pink. And seller said it's a lower light acro. It has since got a deeper red and yellower tips since being in my tank
