JBJ 28g LED

So i bought an LED hood from a fellow reefer on RC...he said the light intesity was too much for his corals, so he only plugged in 2 of 5 white light LED strips. My corals are only doing ok compared to my other tank...is this the norm?? RBTA doing well, but zoas and acans are suffering...what's the word on LED lighting on a 28g JBJ??
