JBJ Viper ISSUE....light bulb, exploded..?

So, I just got my new JBJ light about 10 days ago, (after waiting since april...) it had been working great, and I loved it. One day I get home and the light was not on....so, I look, and it appears that the whole bulb some how exploded. I have no idea why, has this happened to anyone else? I ordered the light from nanotuners, will they replace it? Or do I have to go through JBJ....I have no idea where to start with this...Any input is greatly apprectiated!

I'd contact nanotuners first, then if thats a no go, contact jbj. Hope you still have your sales reciept :)
Good luck with that.

this is the one reason I did not go with a viper....I heard the horror stories about the factory bulb that ships with them. This is a known issue...go search at nano-reefs and you will see what I'm talking about.

Nano will replace it, they sold it to you, not JBJ. Did you not read the numerous and other posts about the issues with this light right on this forum.

I'm sure nanotuners will replace it but I would also contact JBJ. The more reports of a possible defect, the better. (from a fellow Panther...)

Still waiting to here from nano tuners after 2 days....I have not searched about this light's issues yet...I followed the thread that was up when they first came out and was hearing mostly about the defective clamp..? anyways supposedly that problem has been solved, my lamp is actually a Series II Viper, with a bunch of "improvements", these just started shipping the 2nd week in July. Thats why even though I ordered it in April, I didnt get it until this month, i was in constant contact with nanotuners (the same guy....) and he kept assuring me that "all the issues with the old light will be solved with yours", that same guy was even nice enough to personally drop it off at my house rather than ship it because they knew I had been waiting. anyways, thanks all..ill get to researching about those factory bulbs now... =)

The clamp was one of the original problem but others have complained about bulbs although not exploding ones. Has nano customs/tuners replied yet and made the appropriate offer to replace or refund? I have found them slow to respond.

Nope, not yet. Its been 4 days now....I got one response the same day, from the guy who originally handled my order, Chris, he said he would forward it to someone higher up or something, have yet to hear from this person....

Chris is the owner so no one higher up unless he is talking with manufacturer. Either way, Chris should send you, at the very least, a replacement bulb. Keep us informed.
