This is my new thread!

I know people are going to ask about lighting, under no circumstances will I discuss the lighting of my aquarium in this thread or I will be in direct violation of the user agreement.

This is a link to my 18" Cardinal Coulmn

FTS

Some close ups taken a little over a week from the FTS, things are starting to color up.

I'd be happy to answer any other questions about the aquarium that don't directly pertain to lighting. I'd just like to be able to document the progress of my tank kept on a simple no hassle philosophy.

Enjoy!!

BTW those leds arent exactly a mystery to anyone whose done even vague browsing of led fixtures just out of curiousity, dont know the big deal but hey lets not break any rules :strange: .

Awesome looking tanks. Mind sharing what your stocklist is for this tank? Either currently (can't really tell if you have any fish in it from that FTS) or planned?

In his old thread he mentions that he has given his pictures to the manufacturer of his lighting fixture so there must be a conflict of interest with the Reef Central user agreement over that.

Fish:
4x captive raised Hippo Tangs from Sustainable Aquatics
4x captive raised yellow Tangs from Sustaibable Aquatics
pair of tank bred Red Head Gobies from ORA
pair of tank bred Shark Nose Gobies from ORA
3x captive raised Yellow Line Chromis from Sustainable Aquatics
3x captive raised Blue Eyed Cardinals from ORA

Some of the tangs will come out and go into another aquarium once they are bigger then a silver dollar.

CUC:
25x Astrea
1x Sand Star
1x Tiger Cucumber
5x Nassarius
5x Nerite
5x Scarlet Hermit

I will list the corals later but everything is auqacultured or received from established aquariums.

David- As soon as you have everything all straightened out or I come into that neck of the woods I will have you to my office. It will be nice to catch up and I'm sure you will dig the 8 other tanks LOL!

What I can't figure out is why the tank looks so purple in photographs, it isn't like that in person. I might have to take the image into Light Room and change the shadow color LOL!!

Everything color wise is spot on except for that stupid purple.

Haha I am sure I will, I just hope I will be able to pick my jaw off the floor, haha. I showed a friend some pics of your tanks, and we was amazed. He is into reefing also (both types if you know what I mean, haha). Since your a pro photographer, what camera do you use? I want to get a good DSLR camera, after I get that job thursday of course. But what brand do you like best, canon?

The first thing I tell people when they are looking into a camera is it's just a tool to get a job done. I don't have any particular preference on camera brands but I do shoot mainly with a Canon.

I shoot with a Canon 1D MKII, 5D MKII, 7D and 50D when I'm digital and each body serves a different purpose. My lens line up stays pretty much the same while I switch bodies all the time.

I also shoot medium format 6x7 film with a Mamiya RZ67 Pro II

We will talk camera a bit when I see you next, but if I had to start all over again I'd pick up a Nikon D3s and be done with it.

Oh ok sounds good.

Thanks again man.

Nice tank and the pics are awesome! Are you dosing anything besides the big 3(ca, alk and mg)? Your colors looks great.
