I have a false perc that usually lives quite happily with his corkscrew anemone. For months, I wasn't sure they were going to host, but eventually the clown figured out that the anemone was for him. The clown doesn't feed the anemone, but they do snuggle nicely.
But since then, the fish is very jealous of her anemone... to the point of trying to remove chunks of food when I'm target feeding.
I've tried to feed the anemone after I feed the rest of the tank, thinking that perhaps the clown just wanted a bigger dinner - but nope... that's not the case. She's not munching on the anemones food... just cleaning her house. So, I remove whatever chunks of food I fed the anemone and try again the next day. Sometimes the anemone eats quickly while the clown is distracted elsewhere... but as often as I'd like.
So... what can I do? I'd like to keep this creature, but if it just can't eat - I'll need to find a happier home for it.
