Jebao wavemakers

Going to purchase a set of Jebao WP with the dual controller to place in my 125. I was figuring to put 2 of the WP-40's and then just dial it down as needed, but is that overkill? From videos I am seeing on the interweb, a single wp-40 on a 125g makes some rocking waves. Would I be getting whitecaps with a 40?

I've got two 40's on my 210g. You can dial them down quite a bit. I think you should be OK.

The thing I like about two is the multidirectional flow you can create with them. They will create a wave if you set them up that way, but for random flow, which I like better, I think two will do a better job than just one.

I agree!

I have 2 WP-60's (on the dual controller), an MP40 and an MP60 on my 125. All dialed down, but still over half.

Flow depends on what you're trying to keep...

How do you guys keep your sand in place with all that flow? I don't have a sandstorm, but I always have a spot in the front of the tank where the sand clears out all the way to the bottom. No amount of adjustment keeps the sand in place.

So shoot, Im starting to think that two WP40s arent going to be enough in a 125. If that is the case, Im thinking of going with two RW-20s so I can link the two together then expand them later with 2 more and link them in as well

I have:
2 wp25's
1 Tunze 6065
1 mp10
1 1700 gph return from sump

All going full blast on random modes and I'm loving it.

The 2 wp40's I had were too directional imo in my 4' tank so I swapped them out for the 25's.

The seller has stopped warranty claims on those pumps because they were having too many problems and Jebao was not reimbursing them for their warranty claims (so they were replacing the pumps out of pocket). Tried to contact Jebao in China. Didn't work out.

Today I placed an order for a new (non-Jebao) pump. So in the end, I paid double, and lost a bunch of stuff.

I was really expecting to come on RC and find lots of people complaining about these products. Didn't really see that... Short term, the products rock. But I sure won't buy any of their products again!

This was a dc controllable pump. There is an external 12 volt power supply, an external controller, and then the rest of the electronics are actually on the pump. It was the on board electronics that fried. Basically the part you can't fix, no matter how many geeky friends you have.

Sorry but that's not the same as the powerheads.

Will the 25's be ok or should I go with 10's?

If you can control their speed then why not get the larger ones since the price between models is so close?....that's the way I look at it.

I was mainly going to control their off and on...I had not looked at the programming required to control speed. Guess I can.

You can skip all of that unless you want to kill them for feedings or something. The controllers are super easy to use and have plenty of options. I would do 2 wp25s w. Twins controller. Turn them down to S3 on else mode.
