Jebao WP25 Information

So glad I found this Thread.

In the middle of setting up a 6ft long 125 Gallon Tank. And have been researching different Powerheads and Wavermakers.

MP's are Bloody expensive as well as the Tuzune's.

Was thinking of getting two Koralia 1500's and running them off My ReefKeeper in wave maker. But I hear they die quickly and click with every restart, or start up backwards. Than I found this thread.

My question is two WP 25's or two WP 40's in a 6ft Long FOWLR ?

Either will prob suffice.

With 2 wp25 your limited with flow down the road.

With 2 wp40 you have head room and can dial them down to where you like or up if you need more .

Agreed. I think 2 $0's is fine for a 6' long tank.
As far as I can recall I don't think anyone has them running off of a ReefKeeper yet, with the exception of simple on/off wavemaker, but that defeats the purpose of getting these pumps.

You may want to consider the Dual controller that Fish-Street is offering as a package.

Was going to use the New Dual Controller. As the ReefKeeper is just on and off.
I'll order the 2 HUGE WP 40s and Dual Controller Thanks.

Dear, thanks for the tip.

And on the question of the night sensor? Does anyone know if being in W3, for example, when the sensor is activated nighttime wave type changes? Should not be a W3, but weaker?

Thanks!

You're welcome, glad to help!
Nighttime mode is a steady stream at 50% of pump's power..... I think the same as the "L" mode setting (low) I believe it's called.

Is there a disadvantage to not using the night mode? Waves never stop in the ocean so I guess I don't understand a benefit of turning the wave off at night.

I just ordered my first wave maker ever! How long does it usually take to get a wp25 from the nj warehouse? I'm in Florida.

after reading way to many pages i will ask just to see if i'm right i have a 120g 4ft long and i and going to run 2 WP 25's should be enough correct.

will be doing sps, lps and softies.

also placement both on the back wall or on the left and right side?

That should be fine.

I have a 40 and 25 on opposite ends of the tank, begin controlled by a Reef Angel.
They vary between 30 and 70% full speed and are in anti-sync mode.

the 40 is at the upper front of the left hand side while the 25 is at the lower back of the right hand side of the tank.

Just put two WP25's on my newly set up, cycling 4' 120g. What is the best setting and position to run them in if I plan on keeping everything?

Wow you're gonna keep everything. You'll need a bigger tank than 120.

setting and position is very subjective.

I like the layout I listed above, but others like them on the back pointing towards the front glass and maybe crossed.

It's up to you.

that's part of the fun is putting them in and moving them around to see what works best with your tank and rock work.

The Else mode seems to be what most people are using because it is the most random.

^ I meant as far as flow goes for corals and such. Fish I am obviously limited.

Thanks, I will run it in else mode... power to the max? I have them on the sides currently I will try the forward facing configuration when I get back home.

I don't use the standard controller, I have mine on a Reef Angel and it just 30-70% full speed.

If I'm not mistaken I think the Speed Controls (S1, S2, S3) on the new controller only work on the W1 mode so if you are running it in Else mode it will have to be Full unless you dial it back with an LED dimmer or an Apex or Reef Angel.

Just bought a used wp 25. If I buy a second one and get the twin controller, this will allow me to put them in night mode to lower the flow correct? Any other controller from jebao that doesn this without having to buy a second one for the twin controller?

Due to the size of this thread, just gonna ask what I'm searching for. I have a 72g bow and slowly building a mixed reef. My only flow is my return at the moment but need more flow for some newly acquired acros. I'm very interested in these power heads, but confused as to what would suffice. Would 1 do what I need? 2 on a wave maker? Basically looking for a recommended set up.
