Jebao WP25 Information

I wish Geemanaz would post more description of the controller and not just the picture. May be he only came across the picture and not in possession of the controller. The date stamp on the picture follows the format used in Asia and not from US, similar to the picture showing the comparison of WP40 and WP25.

Well when I copied the URL for the picture so I could re-post in my thread above I noticed that part of the link had bhazard in it so it looks like it is from bhazard's photobucket account.

I like the new controller. Built in speed control (3 speeds in each mode is fine with me). And the light sensor is built in (as it was on the first WP25 controllers). All good stuff. Now lets get some out in the market place and some reviews written. I'm about ready to buy along with half a dozen others in my local club.

The first WP25 controller didn't have a light sensor built-in, it was identical to the WP40 controller. Unless you know something I don't? Mine came with the sensors loose in the bag, just like the WP40.

I don't think this on has the sensor built in either.
It is still plugged into the side like the original.
That is just anamber light that come on to tell you the pump is in night mode.

It's not what everyone was expecting and hoping for (a knob control for more refined tuning), but it's better then nothing and if that is what originally came out we probably would have all been happy with it.

Keep in mind there are still the other ways of reducing the speed that have been discovered and talked about in this and the WP-40 thread.

I do not have the controller in hand .The photo of the controller come from Jabeo sell rep and the guy getting back to me with the description on how it works

if someone could help real quick. ive looked thru this thread. and kinda got lost with all the topics regarding this pump. what size tank is the WP25 rated up to?

depends on what your keeping. but just 1 in my 75 gal. is plenty for a mixed reef. but i would say for a mixed reef the pump could handle up to a 90 gal.

There is no spec on tank size for WP25. I don't want to compare WP25 to MP10 except in flow rate. MP10 has a max flow rate of 1575GPH and is rated for up to 50g. WP25 has a max flow rate of 2100GPH. That should give you some idea.

I have a 220 mixed reef. I understand the WP40s would be a better option. but I was just curious as to size recommendations. but your recommendation of up to a 90 is more or less a good enough for me. I am thinking of setting up a 120 for my sister around the holidays. and just game planning really. so thanx for the input...

In that case, I would still want to get the voltage power driver with the wp25 and new controller for my 28 NC. I run my mp10 at 50-60% which is good flow in my tank. With the S3 speed feature on the wp25 which reduces 50%, even running at S3 would be like running my mp10 at 75-80% with the flow rates posted of both and that's strong flow for my tank

Two 25s in my 105 ais perfect, slightly dialed back though. I moved a WP40 to my 150 (72x18) and I thought it would be too much, because the Koralia Magnum 8 caused a sand storm, but I might throw my other WP40 in there as well. It's a FOWLR though, so nothing to really bother but the sand. Not dialed back in that tank. Running on else mode, so random flow does help instead of a constant stream.

I received that picture from Jebao yesterday and posted it. If you have questions I can ask them. It now comes with the pumps at no extra cost.

I think in an e-mail I got from Jebao they said it was rated for 25-75 gallons, but that is obviously not true.

I would say that 1 in a 90 is good.
1 in my 55 is still to strong.

Considering that a 90 (and even a 110) is basically a glorified 75 gallon... yeah, I'd say if they're rated for up to 75 gallons then they are rated for just about any standard 4 foot tank. So figure it'll work well up to 120 gallons, assuming the magnet can take the glass thickness.

Also consider that, if these follow the Tunze design as well as they look, they will throw a bit further. So if one wasn't looking for full SPS-level flow these could probably go on any tank that they could fit on the glass.

Well a 55 is a 4 foot tank and it definitely was to strong for it.

Here is a video of the 25 in my 55 gallon.

I seen someones tank that they were running 2xwp40s on a standard 125 full throttle and no problems with his mixed reef. I have 2xmag 8s in my 220 running about 80%. so I wouldn't be worried about running 2xwp40s in their. but don't wanna throw this thread off track. like I said. future planning of a 120. and since im tryin to piece together that system. I think ill be goin wit two of the wp25s instead of some koralias on that tank...
