Jebao WP25 Information

I have noticed that on mode W1 the WP-25 makes a nice rocking motion but doesn't circulate the water much. I am thinking about adding an inexpensive 800gph standard wavemaker to my 65 gal DT just to circulate more water. Has anyone else done this?

Yes, it is just the same as using a Tunze wavebox, the wave is not recommended as the only flow. Laminar flow is more important, the wave can help suspending matter on the water column but you need to used some laminar flow to push around.

If you are using wave modes I would recommend to get two pumps, and put the second on else mode or constant flow. You could also get an even cheaper pump like a koralia for the laminar flow.

I got all excited reading about these and ordered two WP40 for my 300g 8ft tank. Are having two of these in my 300 going to be a good idea? Is it enough for good wave action? What would be the best setup in your opinions for two of these guys in my tank.

I also have two Koralia Mag8 that I'm planning on putting in the back bottom corner facing out diagonal on my bare-bottom to blow out as much crap as possible on each side.

They will arrive in two days and I'm hoping to have this all sorted out by then.

If the sensor is flashing on and off it will mess with you flow, because it is cutting it from full speed to 1/3 speed.

mine will flash on and off if I have the dimmer switch turned far enough down. you just have to adjust the dimmer till it doesn't flash anymore, if it is flashing that means it isn't getting enough power.

Would you guys educate me if it is better for my standard 125 SPS to get 2 WP-25 or 2 WP-40....

I think that 2 WP-40 will be overkill if i dial it down but will like recommendations of others that already have experience with their configurations.

I would suggest two WP40, one at each end, to give you the best flow pattern. WP40 has a wider flow than WP25 and in ELSE mode will not be overkill even at full 24v.

I agree with SimonSKL 100% . 2 WP-40's in ELSE mode would be fine for a 6' long, 125, SPS tank.

I have 2 wp40's and 1 wp25 in a 180 sps tank, all going full blast and it's pretty good. Definitely not too much flow.

Sounds like the controller may be defective.

I have a 40 breeder and if I use the LED dimmer to reduce the power in else mode to the point that the night sensor light starts flashing, it is still too powerful and kicks up sand in my tank. If I turn it down more, it seems about right but the sensor light flashes. Is this bad for the pump?

I really wish I could increase the flow but I've tried angling the flow in various ways and no matter what, I kick up sand. W1 mode on S2 or S3 works well at 100% but I don't think that's giving me the flow I want for my SPS.

Edit - see that you are not using dimmer - mine do that is the dimmer is set too low.

So for wider flow, would I get by with a wp40 on a dimmer, or would two wp25s on dimmers to compensate (spaced out to create with illusion of "width")? Would either option be overkill? It will be a 60g cube, I'm thinking these might not be right for me. I don't want a powerhead-type jet blasting - really like wide, gentle flow.
