Jebao WP60

Wow...woke up this morning and there is a HUGE bare area in my sand where the deflection off a rock in the middle of the tank caused the sand to move into a large pile. Crazy amount of flow!

Has anyone used a selectable power supply to turn down the power on the WP-60 like the WP-40 users have?

I ordered on for my 75 thinking on W1 S3 is should be pushing 10000 LPH vs 8000 for the WP-25 but with a much wider flow. Seeing the video posted a bit on the last page has me scared it will still be too much.

I have four of these in my 8 foot long tank.. I love these.. I have an apex.. and frankly I love being able to play with the stock controller.. rather than have networked into my apex.. just my 2 cents..

Hey Chicago,...can I ask how do you have them placed in your tank. Do you have a video you could post of them in action. Thanks,---Rick

Been water testing my new tank and I have one WP60 in there for now.

It's pretty noisy imo... you can hear it ramping up and down (Else / Full Speed). Sounds like a cell phone vibrating.

Does this go away after a slim coat has begun?

Just bought some DC return pumps because the other pumps I had hummed. That bothered me, now my wife is telling me the WP60 is driving her nuts. LOL

I had that noise with my WP-40 and it went awsy after about a month.

OK great, was in the dog house when I bought the new returns for the noise that bothered me, and didn't address her noise complaint lol

Good to hear that buzz/hum goes away after a while... have 4 WP40s and 2 WP60s... would be a lot of random buzzing lol

I'm planning to add 2 wp60 to my 200 gal. Need advice: is it better to buy 2 with separate controlers (on each) or with one Twins linkage controler?

I don't know too many people that have the twin linkage controller yet so there is not much feedback on them. Assuming there are no problems with them I would go with the twin linkage.

Thanks Steve! My thoughts was: possibly twin controler might give better synchronization  of two units...

No Problem. Like I said though there is not to much feedback on them yet and we don't know if there are problems or not.

Jebao does a decent job of testing their products so I think it would be pretty good right now.

Fabulous thread! I notice that most who have posted pics and videos have installed the WP60 towards the middle of one of the side panes. I imagine putting the pump in a back corner, a foot down from the top won't produce a standing wave and there will be reflection all over the place. Has anyone tried this for any length of time? It would be nice to have all the necessary flow without the pump being so conspicuous. (Just trying to play with physics!:spin3:)

No matter where I put the wp60 in my 4' cube, the opposite side becomes sandless. I've had to unplug it until I can figure out what to do with my sand.

Is this the noise you guys are hearing on new WP60s?

They've been in the water a few days and it's driving me nuts...

Should this go away after a slime coat builds up?

I installed a WP60 in my 75g tank. I bought the new controller (which can work with a single pump). I run it on W1 on the second lowest speed. It works great. Before this I had 2 MP-40's and a WP10 and would have cyno all over the tank. With this pump, and it's wide flow I have had none in the last 2 weeks.

It is also quite with the lower speed setting. The new controller allows for a lower flow than the standard controller.

Wow, that is really loud. I don't run mine on full blast but that seems extreme. Sounds like the pump noise is being amplified.
