Hey Chicago,....thanks I will have mine on each side of my overflow also,...acrylic is only 5/8 there. Do the magnets come as a pair?...the site is confusing, it says xxx dollars @ magnet.
Are you running your 60's at only 50% ? I just got a 40 for testing and the thing really kicks up my detrius (didn't know I even had lol),...my tank is 8 foot long also.---Rick

They come as one Magnet. Just use the stock wetside magnets that come with your WP60s.
On 1" acrylic on the sides and probably 1 1/4" acrylic on the back of my tank, they can pull the WP60 (with stock wetside magnet) from about 2-3" off of the glass on to the glass if I let go of the powerhead.
They are strong! BE VERY VERY CAREFUL WITH THEM!!!
If you get multiple magnets, make sure you ask them to package/wrap them individually. Trying to get them apart in a block is dangerous, I sent the black of magnets back to them to have them taken apart and sent back to me.

Ok I just had to keep this one going. I fired up two of my wp60's on my 11 foot tank. Man these things move some water. Not even turned up all the way and forget about wave 1 the water will certainly overflow my tank! It definately has enough settings to get what you want. I may get two WP40 as well for additional movement but still debating. I honestly think these things are built fine I've had no problems with them at all. time will tell but compared to $675 vortech....I can replace them 7 times ha!

I think you just answered your own question. If the WP40 barely makes it across then go with the WP60's. You can always set them on a lower speed

I have a 6 foot 210 with two wp40 and a wp60. Two wp60's in my tank would be perfect; so I'm sure it would work great for you.
I don't think they have a wireless as powerful as a 60 yet. The new one puts out more gph than a 40 but not a 60.
I have a question, at what point is the seams a concern? I have a wp 25 and I run w1 on the lowest setting nightly, it throws a decent wave, but I have read things about seams failing and don't understand at what point that becomes a legitimate concern, should I not be running it on w1 at all?

Legitimate... sure. Tanks are designed to hold a static volume of water. Having water continuously slosh back and forth will add an additional pressure to the sides and weaken the seams whether it's glass or acrylic. Now how long can it go on? Well I think quality of tank is probably going to come into play more so than the wave motion of the water, i.e. someone who builds the bare minimum vs. someone who puts in a reasonable safety factor.
That said never heard of a tank busting the seams due to the wave action inside. If anything I think the Tunze wavebox has been around for a long enough time such that we have a good sampling of data... but then again someone who buys a Tunze might be more inclined to spend more for a well bit aquarium

I bought a very expensive new tank from my LFS, when one of my MP10s died I just didn't have another 300 on hand to replace it, I will be ordering another in a month or so, however I have owned tunze pumps and I have to say I like the Jeabo more than any other pump I have owned and I plan on leaving the 25 in my tank, that being said, vortech pumps are far superior but I feel that in conjunction with both Jeabo and vortech my tank has everything I want as far as flow is concerned, thank you for your input on the seam question
