Jebao WP60

I ordered the MP-60 thinking I will have 135 or 120. However now I am getting a 90 Cube. Do you guys think this is an overkill even at minimum? What should I get instead for softies mostly. No LPS.

*if you have a controller (or one of those voltage selector outlets - can't remember what they are called exactly) you can dial down the power and it would work fine in a 90 cube.

Otherwise it's massive overkill and won't really work...especially if you have fine sand

They are called a variable power supply or a selectable power supply, but mostly variable.

It was advertised as coming with the controller.

I have Tropic Eden Argonite (3.5mm). I dont want to invest in another controller or equipment. If at min it is going to be a problem then I would rather buy something else.

You would need to run it at about 1/2 power.
If I remember the Speed control on the new controllers only worked on the W1 mode.

I am building a 375 acrylic 3/4" thick. I purchased 3 Jabao wp60's but the magnets won't hold. Anyone run into this issue? If so, what did you do?

mine are in the over flow.. yes wet on all sides...fully submerged.. I have three on each side of a 8 foot long tank.. and all I can say is they are dialed back 50%. lots of motion..

Hmm I'd like to put my magnet on the wet side of the overflow. My 300g has the corner curved overflows Im hoping magnet will slide by the pvc and hold on the curved plastic?... I'll try tomorrow...

jebao relased the rw series recently...lfs had some in the display, things are beasts. less noise and more flow than vortechs imo, new controllers and design are more than worth the price

I got 2 60's for my new 220 gallon 6' tank. i had no idea how strong these bad boys were.. don't get me wrong i knew they were strong but I'm blown away at the water movement.. hate to say its almost too much, no it is too much i can run 1 at a time, i hooked them up to a hydro wave maker controller which just alternates them off and on for the time i specify 1min. do you think this will damage them ? should i just return them and get 40's ?

I don't know how the hyrdo wavemaker will effect them, but they are designed to alternate.

I had 2 40's rinning on various patterns or modes on a Reef Angel controller and they were fine.

If you have an aquarium controller you can connect the pumps to it to control if they slow down at night or shut off at feeding.

Lol

I'm running two RW-20's and one wp40 all wide open full speed (else mode) on my 6ft 210gal and am contemplating a 3rd rw20 because I still have some spots not getting as much flow as I want...

Ive been playing with the directions for a few hours and think I may have found a pattern that works.. Tell ya what I turned them off last night when I went to bed and turned them on this morning and they kicked up so much poop and debris it took nearly an hour for the tank to clear up.. They are defiantly hitting all corners of the tank LOL Its a tough one cause my SPS love it, and my LPS I don't think like it.. So gotta move some stuff to make it work, they defiantly do their job

Installed one on back wall of my 180 two months ago. Noticed it had stopped pumping last weekend. Removed it, scrubbed it, and soaked in vinegar overnight. Put it back in DT and still did not work. Soaked it for 2d night in vinegar, scrubbed it again, and tried it again in DT. No dice. Unplugged it and tried again and it started up. Keeping my eye on it, but doubt it's long for this world.
